Thin Ice

It spins in circles like a carousel
As uninviting as those old church bells
Just like those lies that you told yourself
It won’t turn me away
I’m a cancer of the careless kind
But my effectuation is benign
I struggle hard to see the bigger picture
Roaming ghosts of this sprinkled verse
Shatter hard against my idle words
With apathy and chiseled tombstones
And Something’s to never be explained
But all you’ll see is smiling
From the soft inner core
Forced to the outside
With armor at hearts door
Shining like the stars so burned out that thewords won’t come out right
But if I wake up from this nightmare I swear we’llbe just fine
But I can’t shut you out forever, these eggshellswe must walk together
But the Ice is thin, so let’s go for it.

The Deep Sleep

She said, "it was a good run" but we faded like some drowned out setting sun
Lost in horizon lines, "all wounds heal with given time"
And I'm tired. I'm tired.
I toss and turn in my dark room, wondering what is left to lose.
Just Let me sleep.
So I can be me.
And never escape these dream worlds I create.
Insomnia, losing balance, losing my mind
I "lie" myself to sleep on a chorus of my dreams.
I know it seems hard but it's harder than it seems.
